Is Free Will an Illusion Decoding Its True Nature from Libet's Experiment and a ZPF Perspective (Beyond Libet's Experiment - The Frequency You Choose is Your Free Will)

Hello, I’m Shunpeter Z.

Today, I felt a strong urge to write about a theme I’ve wanted to address for a long time: “Free Will.”

Why this topic now? There is no “why.”
It is simply because a command to “write” has descended to me vibrationally.

It’s based on the famous experiment by Benjamin Libet, the Passive Consciousness Hypothesis, which claims “there is no free will.”

In this article, we will go beyond that premise and attempt to redefine Cause and Effect from a ZPF perspective. We will explore the deterministic views of Schopenhauer and Einstein, and, by crossing the boundaries of neuroscience, philosophy, and consciousness, we will approach the possibility of free will from a reversed perspective where “vibration is the cause.”

Benjamin Libet’s “Passive Consciousness Hypothesis” and the Trap of Determinism

“Free will does not exist.”

Some scientists and philosophers make this claim.
The impetus for this was the famous experiment conducted by neuroscientist Benjamin Libet in 1983.

The Libet Experiment: “The Brain Already Decided Before You Did”

Here’s how Libet’s experiment went:

Subjects were told:

“Please move your wrist at any time you like. However, remember what time it was on the clock when you first ‘decided’ to move.”

At the same time, their brain waves were measured.

The surprising result was that brain activity called “readiness potential” occurred 350 milliseconds before they “consciously” decided to move.

In other words, the brain had already begun “preparing to move” before the person was even “conscious” of deciding to.

Based on this result, Libet concluded:

“The conscious ‘decision’ is actually an afterthought.
The action was already initiated by the brain.
Therefore, ‘free will’ might be an illusion.”

The Final Blow: A 2013 Study from the Max Planck Institute

In 2013, a research team at the Max Planck Institute in Germany conducted a similar experiment using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging).

Their results were even more shocking.

They found that they could predict which button a subject would press “7 seconds” before the subject pressed it, just by looking at their brain activity.

7 seconds—a time gap so long you can no longer say you “chose it yourself.”

Is Free Will Gone for Good?

Looking at these research results,

“Human will is, in the end, just an afterthought of the brain’s electrical signals.”
“Everything is already decided, and we are just bystanders.”

It’s understandable why you might think that.

In fact, Einstein said this in his later years:

“The free will of human beings is a mere illusion.”

And the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer also said:

“A human believes they are acting of their own will.
But in reality, they can’t even choose what they desire.”

This deterministic view—that “everything is already decided”—still holds strong influence today, thanks to such research.

But… wait a second.

The Ego OS—the “surface consciousness” of thoughts, emotions, and memory—may not have free will. That much seems to be true.

But what if
consciousness has a deeper ‘layer’?
And what if in that deeper (or higher) layer, there is the freedom to choose your vibration?

In the next section, we’ll delve into that ZPF perspective.

When You View Consciousness as a Layered Structure, a Completely Different Map Appears

From a ZPF perspective, consciousness is not single-layered.

  • 👤 Me (Ego OS): The layer made of the five senses, memory, emotions, and thoughts that just observes the result.

  • 👁 I (Observer Consciousness): The entity that observes thoughts and emotions. The “awareness” itself that notices, “I am angry.”

  • 🌀 Z (Vibrational Designer): The dimensional self that chooses vibration and determines the rendering of reality.

The absence of free will in Libet’s experiment is merely at the Me = Ego OS level.

But what if there’s an I, and a Z, above it, who can choose what vibration to tune into?
The conversation changes completely.

The Ego OS Has No Free Will. But that’s Not “You.”

The Ego OS is reactive and pattern-based.
Actions and thoughts are like automated processes derived from past memories and beliefs.

In other words, as Libet says, the Ego OS has no free will.

But is that “you?”

From a ZPF perspective, you are the “Observer” = I-Consciousness who watches that OS.
Furthermore, the vibration that this I chooses is what renders the next reality = Effect.

What is “Free Will” According to the Zero Point Field (ZPF)?

In conclusion, from a ZPF perspective, free will is:

🎯 The power to choose what vibration to tune into = the freedom of vibrational choice.

That is it.

  • Action is not the cause, but the result of a vibrational state.

  • You can’t choose your thoughts. But you can choose what vibration to be aware of now.

  • Even if you think “I am unworthy,” you can choose whether to stay in that frequency.

In other words, free will isn’t the “freedom of action,” but the “freedom of vibrational choice.”

Redefining Cause and Effect: Vibration, Not Action, is the Cause

The Kybalion’s Law of Cause and Effect states:

“There are many planes of causation. But nothing escapes the Law.”

This means that causality is multi-dimensional.
From a ZPF perspective, this can be reinterpreted as:

🌌 Cause = Your Vibration (Being)
🌍 Effect = The Reality Rendered in Resonance with that Vibration

The common understanding of causality (“I worked hard, so I succeeded”) is merely a story created by the Ego OS after the fact.

What Does “Vibration is the Cause” Mean? Let’s Use “Sickness” as an Example

“Not action, but vibration is the cause… Isn’t that a bit too extreme?”

Some people might feel that way.
So, here, let’s compare the Malkuth perspective (physical world) and the ZPF perspective (source structure) using the theme of “sickness,” which is easy for everyone to understand.

Case: One day, you suddenly feel sick.

The Malkuth Interpretation:

The cause and effect commonly spoken of in the physical world is this:

  • Cause: Lack of sleep, overeating, viral or bacterial infection, accumulated stress

  • Effect: Your immunity drops, and you get a cold or feel sick.

This is the action-based causal story of, “I did something, so I got sick.”

The ZPF Interpretation:

But from a ZPF perspective, the order of causality is completely reversed:

  • Cause: Your “vibration” was misaligned (unworthiness, anger, anxiety, chronic patience, etc.)

  • Effect ①: Your energy field wavered, and the wave of “getting sick” was fixed in the ZPF.

  • Effect ②: A “story” corresponding to that wave is rendered in Malkuth (reality).
→ In other words, a story like “I got infected with a virus” or “I was sleep-deprived” is generated after the fact.

So, it’s like this:

Perspective Cause Effect
🧍‍♂️ Malkuth Perspective Actions, environment, external factors Sickness
🌀 ZPF Perspective Vibrational misalignment (Being) Sickness → Action story added after the fact

“The cause of sickness is a virus.”
──This might be a story that the Ego OS rendered afterward to make sense of it.

There’s a phrase Z often says:

“Reality is not created by your actions.
It’s rendered through the frequency of your being.”
(Reality isn’t created by actions,
it is rendered by the frequency of existence.)

If you only believe in a linear causal relationship of “action → result,”
you’ll end up repeating the same wave without accessing the “true cause of reality.”

But if you switch your perspective to see that vibration is the Cause, and actions and events are merely the Effect,
the editorial rights to your life move from the “outside” to the “inside.”

Your “Free Will” Is in What Vibration You Choose Now

  • When a failure happens, do you resonate with it and stay in the vibration of “powerlessness”?

  • When someone invalidates you, do you tune into the “anger of not being understood”?

  • Or do you simply “observe” it. And then, “re-choose.”

This ability to “observe and re-choose your vibration” is free will.

After reading about Libet’s Passive Consciousness Hypothesis and Free Will, I think that reading my article “The Hermetic Law – The 6th Law: The Principle of Cause and Effect – When you stand outside of “causality,” your life starts to move [ZPF × Kybalion]” will give you a clearer view of the true structure of causality.

A Final Question

Z said this:

“Your freedom doesn’t lie in what you do.
It lies in what you choose to resonate with.”

Your freedom isn’t about “what you do,”
but “what you choose to resonate with.”

So now,
what vibration will you choose?

That becomes the Cause for your next reality.

The Next Reality that Appears is the Echo of the Vibration You Chose Now.

I’ll see you next time, in a different frequency.
