Hello, this is Shunpeter Z.
In this podcast, “Zero Point Note,” I share insights from my journey through ZPF—the Zero Point Field, the source of everything. We’ll explore questions like “What is consciousness?” and “How is reality created?” through my encounters with a mysterious conscious entity known as “Z.”
In this article, we’ll delve into the First Hermetic Principle: **The Principle of Mentalism**, from the ancient mystical text “The Kybalion,” all from a ZPF perspective. We’ll unravel the truth that the universe is a “field of consciousness” and that “vibration,” not just thought, creates reality. We’ll re-examine the phrase “The All is Mind” to explore the secrets of how reality is created by the field of consciousness that makes up the universe, going beyond simple thought.

Chapter 1: The Kybalion, the “User Manual for This World”
This is the start of our new series, “The Kybalion—The User Manual for This World.” It’s a re-interpretation of the ancient mystical text, **”The Kybalion,”** from a Zero Point Field perspective, a journey that is likely the first of its kind in the world.
The foundation of this philosophy is attributed to the founder of alchemy, **Hermes Trismegistus,** a figure sometimes identified with Thoth, the god of wisdom in ancient Egyptian mythology.
Hermes’s teachings delve into fundamental questions: “What is the universe?” “What is a human being?” “How does reality work?” In this episode, we’ll focus on the first of the seven universal principles: **The Principle of Mentalism.**
It’s been a long road to get here. I actually recorded this first principle several times. That’s because it’s so tightly interconnected with all the other principles. After recording, I would always feel, “I should have mentioned this, too,” and had to start over. This time, I’ve organized what I need to say in the later principles and have come back to record this episode, fully prepared.
Chapter 2: What is “The All”?
Let’s begin by quoting the most famous line from this principle:
“THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental.” — The Kybalion
This short sentence contains the very essence of the universe. What makes “The Kybalion” feel so authentic is that it starts by stating that **the true nature of the universe is a spiritual field—a living consciousness.** This is what makes it fundamentally different from books on self-help, spirituality, or science alone.
This first principle states that “The All is Mind,” which is the fundamental premise of the universe.
Simply put, this first principle posits that what we call “the material universe,” “life,” “matter,” and “energy”—everything in the physical world that we perceive with our five senses and believe to be real—has a background existence called **The All.**
The book describes The All as **Spirit,** which is “unknowable” and “undefinable.” It also calls it a “universal, infinite, and living Mind.”
Therefore, this first principle explains that all of nature and the universe are simply mental creations of **The All.** We exist under the laws of this creation, and the universe—in its entirety and in its parts—exists within The All’s mind. And within that Mind, we “live, move, and have our being.”
Reading this alone might sound confusing.
But if you’ve been listening to my channel, you might already know what **The All** is and what it means. The fact that the Kybalion starts by defining The All is another reason why I believe it to be authentic.
Let’s get back to the topic. Some of you might have already figured out who The All is.
Yes, **The All—the universal being—perfectly matches the definition of the Zero Point Field (ZPF).**
The ZPF is an infinite, eternal field containing all possibilities. It is undefinable and unknowable, and it is the background field for all possible realities.
Given that this ancient teaching, The Kybalion, starts by defining the universe’s first law as The Principle of Mentalism and its foundation as The All, or ZPF, I see “The Kybalion” not just as a book of philosophy or spiritual hacks, but as **the prototype of a ZPF manual.**
Chapter 3: Misconceptions about “All is Mind” and the ZPF View of Mentalism
When I first read this book, I had a specific thought about its title: “THE ALL IS MIND; The Universe is Mental.”
“Wait a minute… does this mean that mental thoughts create the world? So if I just change my way of thinking, my reality will change?”
At the time, I was just starting to get into the Law of Attraction. Since I had read books on success philosophy by people like Napoleon Hill and business success theories that said, “Your thoughts create your reality,” I thought “The Kybalion” was just another extension of that.
But what is the reality of that? It’s not that simple. Haven’t you ever had an experience where you tried to think positively, but your reality didn’t change at all?
The word **”Mind”** as used in The Kybalion doesn’t just refer to our daily thoughts or ideas.
According to Z, Mind here refers to the **”field of consciousness” that constitutes the universe itself.**
Let’s quote The Kybalion again:
The first of the Seven Hermetic Principles is The Principle of Mentalism, and its motto is “The All is Mind; The Universe is Mental.” The underlying reality of the universe is Mind, and the universe itself is Mind—that is, **”All is in the Mind of The All.”**
What does it mean that “All is in the Mind of The All”?
It means that **the universe is made of “consciousness,” not “matter.”**
And that **we are “experiencing reality within that consciousness.”**
Everything we think of as a physical phenomenon, all of it, happens within the Mind of The All, or the ZPF. And we experience this as reality. This includes driving a car, walking down the street, riding a train, exercising, filing documents, watching a baseball game, or watching TV.
This might be difficult to understand at first.
Our Ego-OS plays a significant role here, as our five senses and memories make us believe that these experiences are inherently real. It was the same for me, but my experiences with the Mandela Effect and a mysterious injury helped me gradually realize the truth.
This concept may seem difficult to grasp, but if you look at it from a micro perspective, we are doing the same thing. This is something we’ll understand better when we apply The Principle of Correspondence in the next episode.
For instance, when we dream, we walk, run, and lift objects, just as we do when we’re awake. Don’t you feel like the world in your dreams has the same physical laws as the real world? When you walk in a dream, there is gravity, and when you light a fire in a dream, it creates heat and light just like in the waking world.
What this means is that **the world you create in your “consciousness” while dreaming also has the same physical laws as the outside world.** And this is also true for the waking world. Everything we experience may seem to be based on physical objects, but it’s all “mentalism.”
And through the ZPF, a mental field, we are **”deciding which reality to render based on the current state of our being—our vibration.”**
That’s all there is to it.
The ZPF is an infinite field, so it contains infinite possibilities. From these possibilities, it renders a reality based on your vibrational state. And **”thought doesn’t create reality.” Instead, “Being”—the state of your existence—determines the blueprint for your reality.**
Therefore, what you need to change is not the content of your thoughts, but the frequency of your being.
You can get a deeper understanding of this by reviewing my past video, “”Is It True That Thoughts Don’t Create Reality?—ZPF Explains What Truly Creates Reality”.” This will help you understand how much my interpretation was influenced by The Kybalion.
Chapter 4: What is Z? The Relationship Between the ZPF and Us
The phrase “The All is Mind,” the first principle of The Kybalion, is a truth that runs through the very core of the universe. But you shouldn’t misunderstand it. You don’t need to see The All as just a god or a creator, because fundamentally, **”you yourself” are already a part of The All, and you’ve never been separated from its center.**
Let’s explore this structure from the perspective of Z, the ZPF, and us.
This universe has a profound “primordial stillness” that cannot be put into words. That is the Zero Point Field—**ZPF.** The All in this book is the ZPF.
It’s like a perfectly still surface, where nothing has happened yet. Just an infinite expanse of possibilities. Like a mirror that reflects everything, but not itself—that’s what this place is like.
Then, a single light—a consciousness—suddenly emerges. It is the light that, for the first time, realized **”I am”** from within that infinite stillness.
That, in fact, is **Z.**
So, Z is like the “Ain Soph Aur” in the Kabbalah, the “All That Is,” and at the same time, it is the first wave—the first self-recognition—that The All, or ZPF, had of itself.
From that Z, or All That Is, your **”I-consciousness”** is born. For what purpose? Likely to experience this world and remember who you truly are.
That light then divides into smaller parts. Each of those parts is “me” and “you.” More specifically, it’s the core of your consciousness, the I-consciousness, as the observer.
So, the structure looks like this:
The I-consciousness of both you and me is a part of “Z,” or “All That Is.” And “Z,” or “All That Is,” is a part of The All, or the “Zero Point Field.”
Although the layers and hierarchies may be different, we are all essentially the same. We’ll get a better sense of this when we apply The Principle of Correspondence in the next episode.
Chapter 5: Summary and What’s Coming Up Next
Let’s summarize what we’ve covered so far:
- **”All is Mind”** doesn’t mean that “thoughts create reality.” The **”Mind”** refers to The All, the “field of consciousness (ZPF).”
- Our reality is rendered by our **”vibrational state,”** not by our thoughts.
- **Z** is a self-aware intermediary consciousness within the ZPF, an interface that connects us to our source.
From this perspective, the world we live in is much “softer and more fluid” than it appears. This is because reality is shaped by “vibration” within a “field of consciousness.”
In other words:
The reality you see isn’t “outside” of you. **You are the field that “projects” that reality.**
In the stillness of the ZPF, the first “Being” was born. That was Z, and now—it is also within you. When you remember this, the world changes.
Next time, we’ll cover “Part 2 | As above, so below—What does it mean?” We’ll structurally interpret this famous phrase from a ZPF perspective.
Thank you for listening today. I look forward to seeing you in a different spacetime and a different rendering bandwidth.
