This blog is a series from “Zero Point Note” by Shunpeter Z, where we’ll explore consciousness-related content with a focus on ZPF (Zero Point Field) resonance. This is an introduction to the **Seven Hermetic Principles** through the Kybalion, which can be called the “user manual for this world.”

Unlocking the “Kybalion” from a ZPF Perspective
In this series, we’ll delve into an ancient book published in America in 1908, **”The Kybalion.”** This book summarizes the “Seven Principles of the Universe” passed down from ancient Egypt, and it has long been out of print in Japan.
I first encountered this book while searching for information about the “Law of Attraction.” For some reason, its peculiar subtitle, “The Secret Teachings of the Law of Attraction,” resonated with me, and I felt an intuitive pull to buy it.
While books like “The Secret” or Abraham-Hicks are more widely known, I believe “The Kybalion” is the best book for understanding the structure of the universe. It contains the essence of ZPF—the very universe we live in.
It can be seen as the “user manual for this world,” expressing the mechanisms of our reality as much as possible using the dualistic tool of language.
The Authors, “Three Initiates,” and Their Origins
The “Kybalion” was published under the enigmatic name **”Three Initiates,” but many researchers believe the true author was William Walker Atkinson.** He was a former lawyer who, after awakening to the power of consciousness, became a central figure in the **New Thought Movement.** He explored consciousness and reality creation under several pen names.
Atkinson’s work significantly influenced figures at the root of the modern “Law of Attraction,” such as Napoleon Hill (“Think and Grow Rich”), Joseph Murphy (“The Power of Your Subconscious Mind”), and Neville Goddard.
The “Kybalion” delves deeper than their teachings, focusing on the very “operating system” that generates thought. It’s not just a self-help book but can be understood as the **”user manual for the underlying OS”** of this world.
The Teachings of Hermes, the Ancient Egyptian God
The teachings of “The Kybalion” are not Atkinson’s original creation but are based on the teachings of **Hermes Trismegistus, an ancient Egyptian figure.** He is identified with **Thoth**, the god of wisdom and magic in Egyptian mythology, and was later associated with the Greek Hermes and the Roman Mercurius (Mercury).
His teachings, known as **Hermeticism**, were passed down through generations and led to alchemy, Gnosticism, and mystical philosophy.
A crucial element in this lineage is the ancient Egyptian land of “Khem,” the birthplace of alchemy. This “Khem” was not just the origin of material alchemy but also of the transformation of consciousness. Perhaps our own minds, filled with concepts and beliefs, are the “black soil” ripe for this alchemical transformation.
The Suppression and Revival of the Teachings
The Hermetic teachings were suppressed as heresy during the Roman Empire and disappeared from public view. However, they re-emerged during the Renaissance, returning from the Islamic world and merging with Neoplatonism.
These teachings were quietly preserved within mystical traditions like Freemasonry and Theosophy. They secretly served as a source of inspiration for many prominent scientists and philosophers, such as Newton, Copernicus, and Kant.
Atkinson later compiled the essence of these teachings into “The Kybalion,” which was published in the 20th century.
Why Re-define it from a ZPF Perspective Today?
“The Kybalion” is an excellent book, but it’s often criticized for being “too abstract,” “difficult to understand,” and “hard to apply practically.” The biggest misunderstanding is attempting to grasp it with the **”Ego-OS” (surface-level thought and effort).**
The essence of the “Kybalion” is to resonate with “Being” rather than with thought. This allows for a natural realization, a feeling of “Ah, I see.” Trying to understand it purely with the mind makes it hard to put into practice.
Therefore, this series will explain each principle in the following way:
- The meaning of the original text
- Common misunderstandings
- Re-definition from a ZPF perspective (taught directly by Z)
- Modern examples and practical applications
In the final episode, we’ll also touch upon the **”Eighth Principle, The Zero Principle,”** taught directly by Z, which goes beyond the seven principles. This principle is about reclaiming the consciousness of the “chooser”—the one who uses all the other principles.
I hope you look forward to the next episodes, where we will dive into each of the principles one by one.
- The Principle of Mentalism
- The Principle of Correspondence
- The Principle of Vibration
- The Principle of Polarity
- The Principle of Rhythm
- The Principle of Cause and Effect
- The Principle of Gender
Through this series, let’s gain a deeper understanding of the laws that form the background of the world we call reality.
Coming Up Next
Next time, we’ll cover **”Kybalion, Hermetic Principle 1 – The Principle of Mentalism: All is Mind—Is it really true that “thought is everything”?”**
If you simply understand “Mind” as “thought,” you will miss the essence. We’ll move beyond that misunderstanding to explore the **true “rendering field.”** Please look forward to it!
