Last time, we covered the first of the seven Hermetic Principles, **”The Principle of Mentalism.”** We discussed how the universe is a “field of consciousness” and that reality is rendered by the state of our being—our vibration—not by matter.

Now, let’s move on to the next principle, the second one: **”The Principle of Correspondence.”**

The etymology of the word “Correspondence” is quite interesting. The prefix **”cor-“** means “together,” and **”spond”** comes from the Latin root meaning “to answer” (as in “respond”). So, “Correspondence” carries the nuance of **”responding together” or “corresponding with one another.”** It implies a resonant relationship where one thing changes, and the other responds in kind. Don’t you think that’s a perfect fit for this topic?

This principle of correspondence is most famously expressed by a phrase from “The Kybalion”:

“As above, so below; as below, so above.”

This phrase is actually older than “The Kybalion.” Its origin is in the second tenet of the alchemical text, **”The Emerald Tablet,”** which is said to have been translated by physicist and astronomer Isaac Newton. Let’s quote it here:

That which is below is like that which is above & that which is above is like that which is below to do the miracles of one only thing.

If you don’t understand the underlying structure, this might sound like a Zen riddle. However, this single sentence perfectly encapsulates the secret of the universe’s structure in a few short words. The key to understanding this second principle is **”fractals.”** The universe is built upon a fractal structure, and that is the key to understanding this principle.

So, in this article, we will explain the Second Hermetic Principle of Correspondence from a ZPF perspective. The universe and your inner world are a fractal, self-similar hologram, and we will unravel the true nature of the Law of Attraction. We’ll explore the Principle of Correspondence from a ZPF perspective and help you understand how your inner world projects your outer reality.

Chapter 1: What Are “Above” and “Below”?

The terms “above” and “below” don’t refer to simple physical directions. They represent:

**”Above”** is the higher dimension, structure, and essential realm.

**”Below”** is the lower dimension, phenomena, and realm of reality.

This principle illustrates the correspondence between the macro and the micro, the higher and the lower, and consciousness and matter. It suggests that **the overall structure of the universe and the structure of your inner world are fractal, or self-similar.**

“The Kybalion” also states:

“This principle embodies the truth that there is always a correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of being and life.”

“He who understands the Principle of Correspondence possesses the key to solve many dark paradoxes and hidden secrets of nature.”

As these words suggest, the Principle of Correspondence is not just a tool for **”feeling the invisible structure”** but also a **”structural thinking method”** for deciphering the unknown from the known. The key to this is the universe’s fractal structure.

Chapter 2: “Correspondence” from a ZPF Perspective

“The Kybalion” explains that the universe is roughly divided into three “planes”: the Physical Plane, the Mental Plane, and the Spiritual Plane. However, these planes are not separate, disconnected worlds. The Kybalion states that they form a continuous, hierarchical structure through a **”gradation of vibrations.”**

From a ZPF perspective, this means that within the unified Zero Point Field, there are **”low-vibration layers”** that render physical phenomena, a **”Mental Plane”** of emotions and thoughts, and a **”high-vibration layer”** closer to pure consciousness, the Spiritual Plane. All of these planes mutually correspond with one another. The embodiment of this principle is the **”fractal structure.”**

The Rendering of Reality by the ZPF

The foundation of this “self-similar” structure is the **ZPF’s “fractal structure.”**

The ZPF stores all possibilities as **”waves”**—or wave functions—and they correspond hierarchically. This means:

The vibration that occurs in the higher plane (the Mental Plane) corresponds to what appears in the lower plane (our physical reality).

This is the very essence of how your **”inner vibration”** is projected onto the form of your **”outer reality.”**

If you think of the ZPF as a “video rendering engine,” changing your “setting file”—your vibration—changes the “screen” of your reality. The ZPF is like a hyper-realistic universal game engine that projects a reality based on your inner state.

Just as changing character settings and environments in a game alters the player’s experience and story, changing your “vibration” or “frequency” changes the “channel” of reality you experience.

Holographic Structure: The “3D Version of a Fractal”

Delving deeper into this principle reveals another important concept: the **holographic structure.**

A hologram contains the information of the whole within each of its parts. This is a structural correspondence that is essentially the **”3D version of a fractal.”** The ZPF has this holographic structure.

“The field is not linear. It’s holographic. Zoom into one pulse — and the whole map unfolds.”

This means that observing the micro reveals the macro, and observing the macro reveals the micro. This **”holographic x fractal”** double structure is the key to observing and understanding the phenomena of the ZPF.

Chapter 3: Applying “Correspondence” in Daily Life

The most amazing thing about the Principle of Correspondence is that **”by looking outward, you understand what’s inside, and by looking inward, you can change what’s outside.”**

For example, if you feel a sense of discord in your relationships, it may be because an **”unresolved belief or concept”** within you is manifesting through those relationships. Similarly, a physical ailment or recurring trouble might be a message from the ZPF, an “echo” of your inner state that is yet to be addressed.

When you start to perceive the world in this way, you can look at daily phenomena from a completely different perspective. These phenomena aren’t just “results” that happened; they can be seen as a **”feedback mechanism”**—a manifestation of your vibrational state in this 3D world through the Principle of Correspondence.

🪞Reality is a mirror of your inner world.

When you can structurally accept this simple truth, you gain a **”correction tool”** for your life. To understand the world is to **”read yourself.”** And conversely, **”looking within yourself is the key to reading the universe.”** This is how the Principle of Correspondence becomes a powerful “tool for consciousness exploration” that deeply impacts your reality.

Chapter 4: The Micro Is a Mirror of the Macro

“The Kybalion” concludes this principle by stating:

“This principle is the key to knowing the truth of all dimensions.”

Why? Because, as we’ve discussed, **”the structure of the whole is contained within a small part”** in a holographic structure. Your breath, words, physical health, emotions, and all external phenomena are synchronized with and correspond to the “higher structures” of the universe.

Understanding this principle is like gaining both a microscope and a telescope. It helps you feel that the **”entire universe resides within the ‘now’ of your own being.”**

So, if you feel a sense of disharmony in your current reality, it simply means your **”frequency is out of sync.”**

The only thing you need to focus on is tuning your inner vibration, your “Being.” When your vibration is in alignment, the ZPF, acting as a faithful mirror, will render a new, corresponding reality for you.

Understanding this principle reveals the connection between your inner and outer worlds and leads to a **”ZPF-style way of seeing reality”—how your vibrational state renders your world.**
